Historian, PhD in humanities, Associate Professor and Director of the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin. In 1994 he defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Formowanie komunistycznego monopolu władzy politycznej na Pomorzu Zachodnim w latach 1945–1948”, and in 2007 he habilitated on the basis of his thesis entitled “Pomorze Zachodnie w polityce gospodarczej Polski w latach 1950–1960”.
